Instructors -- Specific Sessions

Session 1 (Thursday 9 a.m - 10:30 a.m.) - Jon Parry: Focus on pentatonic scales -- differentiating between and jamming in major and minor pentatonic blues tunes -- Jon Parry will teach his method of making music as a "side man," enhancing the performance of the "front man" without getting in the way.

10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Morning Tea 

Session 2 - (Thursday 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) Rich DelGrosso -- Applying blues major & minor pentatonic scales in blues-jamming. Learn the names of patterns and rhythms in blues jamming, along with commonly used keys for blues string bands. Creating a blues melody with pentatonic notes, choose a blues rhythm and arrangement/pattern. 

12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Lunch

Thursday 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Session 3 - (Friday 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.) Terry Bean and Randy Seppala -- Improve your performance skills, improvising and jamming on stage -- Learn how to develop these skills

10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Morning Tea

Session 4 - (Friday 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) Terry Bean and Randy Seppala -- Creating opportunities to play -- Learn how to get yourself out there. Be a Better Busker and Build Your Musical Chops -- The importance of maintaining good timing!

12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Lunch

Friday 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Session 5 - (Saturday 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.) Forum/Discussion Panel with individual blues demonstrations --finding the common ground and transferrable skills
Jon Parry - blues and the fiddle
Rich DelGrosso - blues and the mandolin
Terry Bean - blues and the guitar & harmonica
Randy Seppala - blues and percussion

10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Morning Tea

Session 6  - (Saturday 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) Jon Parry, Rich DelGrosso & Terry Bean-- Gather Resources for Learning -- Connect with musicians around the world! Find your playing mojo and inspiration!
